JOINT DEGREES

The MPA Program has joined other departments on campus to offer joint degrees. Joint degrees are a great opportunity for students, who are interested in more than one discipline. Below is a list of our joint degree programs. For more information, please call the MPA Office at 801-581-6781. Please be advised that though we try to keep these agreements updated, courses change in departments so it is best to speak with each program's adviser to maintain requirements are being met.

Master of Public Administration and Master of Public Health (MPA/MPH)

The MPA/MPH program is based on the assumption that because there is complementary intellectual and professional benefit from studying public health and public administration in a coordinated program, a student enrolled in the joint degree program should be allowed to earn both degrees in less time and with a lower overall credit requirement than were that student enrolled in each school or program independently. Students are able to gain knowledge and experience around issues involving public health, while also gaining administrative insight in public and nonprofit funding, governance, regulations, etc.
